About Union
A note from the founders
We built Union because of something we kept noticing in our own marriage: the wedding is a day, but the marriage is a ritual. Nobody hands you the ritual. You get a beautiful ceremony, a stack of thank-you cards, and then — Tuesdays. Groceries, calendars, the gentle gravitational pull of "How was your day?" "Fine."
We didn't want fine. We wanted to stay curious about each other — the way we were at the beginning, when every conversation could still surprise us. So we started asking each other real questions, on purpose, on a schedule. One good question a week. Answered privately, then shared. It changed the texture of our ordinary weeks. And we kept wishing we had somewhere to keep what we found — not in a notes app that would be forgotten, but somewhere that treated those answers like what they are: the first draft of a family's story.
That's Union. A weekly question, a private reflection, a synchronized reveal, and an archive that grows into something you can hold.
Free, forever — and why we mean it
The ritual is free. The weekly prompts, the private reflections, the reveal, your complete digital archive — free, for every couple, with no subscription and no premium tier. We only sell one thing: the printed annual keepsake book, and buying it is always optional.
We designed it this way on purpose. Your memories should never be held hostage. A couple's shared history is not a fair thing to put behind a monthly paywall — the moment we charge rent on your own words, our incentives point away from you. A book you choose to buy once a year keeps us honest: we only do well when we've helped you build a year worth printing.
What Union is not
- Not therapy. Union never analyzes your relationship, scores it, or takes sides. When something needs more than a journal, the right place is a licensed human — and we'll say so.
- Not a quiz. There are no results, no compatibility percentages, no comparing yourselves to anyone. The only readers of your answers are the two of you.
- No streaks. Miss a week and nothing scolds you. A single honest sentence counts. The ritual is a table set for you, not homework assigned to you.
If that sounds like the kind of marriage practice you've been meaning to start, we'd love to have you among the first couples.
